Today’s Thought - Work and Play
You know, I always thought I should divide work and play, but why? Here comes a brain dump.
How can something be work to someone and play to someone else?
I listened to a lecture by Alan Watts, and he helped me contemplate how we distinguish work and play because one is supposed to be “moving on and productive” while the other is “pleasurable and not productive.”
I came up with is a few months ago: “Work and fun are already one.” Our minds are tuned to categorize and separate, but that’s not natural. We really don’t HAVE TO do anything. We do what comes natural to us.
It’s the whole right way versus long way to live. How do we know? We know that there are destructive and constructive ways, but we do blur that distinction.
What would you do if money was no concern? DO THAT! There is a reason we are called human beings. Not human thinkings or human doings. We BE.
If you can merge work and play in everything you do, no matter what you do, understanding should come natural and you should not struggle.
Why struggle? Why distinguish work and play at all?
