Today’s Thought - Treat it like a Vocation

Before I begin my homework for today, I need to discuss today’s thought. I don’t do these often.

Work ethic; it’s something everyone should have at a high level, but a lot of people don’t. If you complain about results and are not making progress, look at your work ethic.

Do you do the task well and understand it? Do you take your time? Do you ask questions to reassure you’re in the right direction? Do you have confidence and not doubt? Do you surround yourself with an open mind and have fun with it?

If you can’t do the small things in life well, what makes you think you can do the HUGE things in life well? Start small and build from there. Everyone started somewhere and kept moving forward.

If you treat everything you do like a vocation, despite how much you hate doing it, you get good at it. Trust me, I’d rather do other activities than history, science, and math, but I have to for school. I might as well put on some music, have fun, and get it done so I have time to do other things in life that I love to do. That effort to get those things out of the way will make me appreciate more fun activities.

Quotes off the top of my head:

If you’re bored with life, or you don’t get up every morning
with a burning desire to do things, you don’t have enough
goals. - L Holtz

Don’t count the days, make the days count. Unknown

He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.        - Chinese Proverb

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. - Mark Twain

It’s not true that nice guys finish last. Nice guys are winners before the game even starts. -    - Addison Walker

Enjoy your tasks and do them well. Chances are, if you make it fun, you’ll want to know more and accomplish more.

I’m off to attack homework…and have fun of course, singing jazz choir songs as I do my homework.

Contemplate it.
